Fine Artist
I am an artist with over 25 years of experience, based on the borders of rural Essex and Hertfordshire, creating landscapes inspired by the surrounding countryside.
Alongside my own work, I am a passionate teacher, working with all levels but specialising in beginners. I spend much of my time teaching children in after-school clubs and guiding adults as they build confidence in painting — something I have been doing since my 20s.
My art is rooted in three ideals: joy of colour, the process of painting, and gratitude for what is around me. I am drawn to colour for the way it makes us feel and the memories it evokes, often using a bright, expressive palette with a focus on shape and pattern.
I mainly work in acrylic and mixed media, developing each piece until it feels balanced and cohesive. Painting is an essential part of who I am — and I am continually inspired by the landscapes around Bishop’s Stortford and Sawbridgeworth.
